Sargent Exit Device Series
Sargent 20 Series – The 20 Series Sargent panic device is their economy line device. It comes in two styles, the 2828 Sargent rim exit device and the 2727 surface vertical rod device. Both panic device units are Grade 1 and feature a powder coated finish instead of the usually plated finish.
Sargent 30 Series – The 30 Series is another economy line panic device. These Sargent panic devices also come in two styles, the 3828 Sargent rim exit device and the 3727 surface vertical rod device. The 30 series features a powder coat paint finish and are Grade 1 rated devices.
Sargent 60 Series – The 60 Series was in production from the 1970’s until January 1990. The main difference between the Sargent 60 Series and the Sargent Exit Devices 80 Series is the push pad. On the 60 Series Sargent panic device, the push pad goes all the way across the device, whereas the Sargent Exit Devices 80 Series only covers two thirds of the push bar channel. Sargent Manufacturing Company was originally founded in 1857 by the Sargent brothers. Their factory started off in New Britain, Connecticut but was later moved to New Haven, CT in 1864.

Sargent 646 Surface Strike
The Sargent 646 Surface Strike is used on the 20, 30 and 80 Series Surface Vertical Rod Panic Hardware and Fire Rated Hardware. It is used as a strike for the top latch. The strike measures 1-5/32" x 3-11/16" with a 3/4" projection. Strike features a black coated epoxy finish.

Sargent 624 Bottom Surface Strike
The Sargent 624 Bottom Surface Strike is used on the 20, 30, 60, 80 and 90 Series Surface Vertical Rod Panic Hardware. The Strike is mounted on the floor and the bottom latch locks on to it. Strike measures 9/16" x 2-1/2" with a 3/8" projection. Strike features a black coated epoxy.

The Sargent 20/30/60/80 Dogging Kit 68-2596 is used on the Sargent 20, Sargent 30, Sargent 60, and Sargent 80 Series Panic Hardware. This dogging assembly kit has been around since the 1980's. We only sell the dogging assembly parts as a complete set.

Sargent Lever Return Spring 97-0425
The Sargent Lever Return Spring 97-0425 is usually a green color, however we have seen them in blue and red. The red spring has the same dimensions as the green, but the loop on the coil side of the spring was closed. Sargent is using this spring as a replacement for all of those springs. If you have a Sargent Panic Hardware, and the lever is sagging, or just hanging, this is most likely the problem. The spring measures 2-1/8" long by roughly 3/8" diameter.

Usually only the cap goes missing, but every once and while the bracket goes missing also. The package is used on the all of the 20, 30 and obsolete 60 series devices.

Sargent 20/30/60 End Cap Bracket
The Sargent 20/30/60 End Cap Bracket is used with the larger end cap. This end cap has been manufactured for the last 40 years and started its life on the obsolete 60 Series. The bracket holds the hinge side of the exit device on the door, and the G20300C fits over the top of it.
