The Falcon Automatic Opener 8242 is a smart and easy solution to improve accessibility and meet ADA Codes.  The 8242 is a non handed, surface mounted, 115 volt closer for a push side mounting.   If your door is an inswinging door you would use the 8231.   This self contained package features, an on board power supply, LED light on the control box to signal accurate installation and helps with connection diagnostics.  

This closer features:
SmartLatch-senses and overcomes external pressure conditions with a Graduated energy assist of secure latching.
Push N Go-selectable feature allows door to open automatically as soon as it feels pressure.
Open Position Learning-automatically sets the opening position to eliminate wall and door damage.
Obstacle Obstruction Detection-safety feature stops and reverses door direction when distress or an obstruction is sensed.
Pre-Load Strike Assist-removes load on strike lip with a one second delay allowing the door to release and automatically open.

The Dor-o-Matic Falcon 4758959 Soleniod is used on the EL1690, EL1790, and EL2390 Electric Latch Retraction exit devices.  The Solenoid measures 4-1/8 inches long including mouting flange, and has an 1-3/4 inch diameter.  The mounting screw spacing is 1 inch on centers. The Plunger is included and has a 7/8 inch diameter and is 2-15/16 inches long.  We find the number 971687 on the solenoid.
