Yale has manufactured door closers for the past 100 years. Today, many Yale door closers are the same as the Norton Door Controls, but with different part numbers. We usually find the number 149A Listed Door Closer on these closers.
If you are looking to update, replace or repair your commercial doors with Yale door closers, we have the expertise to help you.
Most Yale door closers ship within 24 hours. Special sizes, finishes and some Yale door closer parts are factory orders and may take up to 4 weeks.
Yale 50 Series – The 50 Series is probably Yale’s most popular closer and is designed for narrow stile doors. It features adjustable closing and latching speed valves, back check, and an adjustable spring tension. This Yale door closer will work on 48” doors all the way down to the barrier free resistance. The mounting dimension is ¾” by 9-1/16”.
Yale 2300 Series – The 2300 series was discontinued in about 2005 and was a fixed spring closer. This Yale door closer has adjustable closing and latching speed valves, along with back check. We ship the Norton 9300 in place, they are the same closer.
Yale 3300 Series – The 3300 is another of their narrow stile door closers with a ¾” by 12” hole spacing. It features adjustable closing and latching speeds, back check, and adjustable spring tension. Up until about 2012 they had two models, one for barrier free applications (3301BF) and one for standard (3301). Today, the Yale door closer 3301 is updated to work in all applications. The difference between the 3301 and 3501 is the cover. The cover on the 3301 is a slim cover, and does not cover the spindles on the top and bottom of the cylinder, so they protrude from the cover.
Yale 3500 Series – The 3500 is another of their narrow stile door closers with a ¾” by 12” hole spacing. This Yale door closer features adjustable closing and latching speeds, back check, and adjustable spring tension. Up until about 2012 they had two models, one for barrier free applications (3501BF) and one for standard (3501). Today, the 3501 Yale door closer is updated to work in all applications. The difference between the 3301 and 3501 is the cover. The cover on the 3501 is a full cover, so the complete closer and spindles are hidden.
Yale 4400 Series – The 4400 series is also known as the 400 series. This closer has been around since the 1970’s, but back then you had to specify left and right, push side, pull side or top jamb mounting. The least version of this Yale door closer is non-handed, and will work in all three mountings. We sometimes find 4400/4400BF and 7500/7500BF on the inside of the cover. You only have to order the 4400 now, as it will work for all four of these closers.
Yale 1900 Series – The Yale door closer 1900 is a traditional closer we used to see in the 1940’s, 50’s and early 60’s. It is designed to meet historical landmark codes, but is expensive. We would only recommend this closer if you are trying to meet codes.
Yale Replacement Parts – We currently stock most of the arms, covers and replacement springs for the older door closers.
