The Von Duprin 88 End Case 050435 is also known as the hinge case, meaning it is on the hinge side of the door.   This End Cap is used on all of the Von Duprin 88 models, which include 88, 8827, 8847 and 8875.   This piece does all the lifting of the cross bar, so it is an important component.  The case includes the all of the internal workings and springs.

The Dorma RTS88 Door Closer is an overhead concealed closer for both single and double-acting doors.  It is one of the more popular overhead concealed closers on the market today.  The RTS88 will consist of a steel cam, rollers, and springs housed in a compact cast iron body.  Closers will be capable of being installed in minimum 1-3/4" x 4" headers. RTS88 will have maximum door opening to 90º or 105º, trim conditions permitting. Sweep and latch speed will be controlled by two noncritical adjustment valves from 90º or 105º to closed. Built-in pressure relief valve will protect the closer from abuse caused by forced closing. A mechanical backcheck combined with a positive stop at 90º or 105º will be provided to protect the door and frame. The RTS88 closer will be available with hold open at 90º or 105º, or without hold open. The product shown here is just the replacement cylinder.

The Dorma 8831 Top Arm for RTS88 is for use on Single and Double Acting doors.  This arm is known as a side load arm, and usually has a notch in the door at the top to access the arm fastening block.  This piece measures 10-1/2" long by 1-3/8" wide at the widest part, and is 1/2" thick.  This is the standard arm in the RST01 and RST02 Packages.

The Dorma 8812 Offset Slide Arm for RTS88 is used on in the RST31, RST30, RTS29, RST28, RST27, RTS26 and RTS25 packages.  This arm is used on Single Acting Doors.  The track measures 13" long by 1-3/16" wide by 7/16" thick.   This is the arm you probably have if you are using 3/4" offset hinges or 4-1/2" wide butt hinges.

The Von Duprin 22 Mechanism End Cap 900981 is the end cap and bracket that ships with the 22 and 2227 series.  The bracket is constructed of zinc plated steel and the end cap is black plastic. The Von Duprin 8827 Top Latch Case 050460 is for non fire rated doors. A non fire rated device is one that has to positively latch every time it closes, you can usually tell, because a non fire rated device has the hex key dogging.  This is the part that may be causing your bottom latch to drag on the floor. The Top Latch does all the work on the Von Duprin 8827. When the Top Latch is retracted, it holds the rods in the retracted position.

The Von Duprin 88 Active Case 050409 is for use with the Rim Device, which is the model that has the latch bolt sticking out the side of the housing.  This version of the housing is for use on the 88EO (Exit Only), 88DT (Dummy Trim) and 88NL (Night Latch) models only.  Call or email if you need the Thumb Piece, Knob or Lever Version.  The Center Case includes all of the internal workings.
