The LCN Door Closer Hold Open Arm 3049 has an adjustable nut that allows the door closer arm to lock when they reach a pre select position.  This arm can be used on most LCN Door Closers because the Hold Open function is in the arm.   If you have a regular armed LCN Closer currently, you can use this arm to make them have the Hold Open function.  Two words of warning, they can not be used on an interior fire rated door, and Hold Open arms usually break.   The manufactures sell more door closers with regular arms, but we tend to sell more Hold Open arms, meaning they wear out or break a lot easier then Regular Arms.

Not all of the LCN closers have the same shape spindle on the door closer cylinder. The LCN Part #'s on this Regular Arm is: 1260-3049 (non handed), 1460-3049 (non handed), 4010-3049 (handed), 4020-3049 (handed), 4040-3049 (non handed).   The fitting for the 4040 is a six sided, the 4010, 4020 and 4110 have a flat sided oval, and the 1260 and 1460 have an eight sided star.

The LCN Door Closer Hold Open Head And Tube 3048 - 3048L.  As the arm rotates the pivot point threads close on to the mounting bracket face and create a friction catch.  If yours is new, try rotating the mounting plate 180 degrees so the threads tighten as it closes. This replacement part from LCN either breaks or wears out.   The material some times wears out due to the friction of open and closing.  But the biggest issue seems to be the point where the tube mounts to the cast iron connector.

The LCN Head and Tube 78H and 78HL comes in two versions.  One is 5-3/4" long and the other is 8-5/8".  The square hole is 5/8".  The head and tube usually breaks where the cast ring attaches to the tube.  This part usually goes by the part number 4040-78H, 4040-78HL, 4040XP-78H, 4040XP-78HL, 1260-78H, 1260-78HL, ect.,.

The LCN Door Closer 62PA Parallel Arm Shoe is constructed of steel and then powder coated to your color.  This is the shoe that LCN used on there universal door closers for the parallel arm mounted door closers. This is the bracket that is shipped with the Rw/PA and Hw/PA arms.  A parallel arm closer is a door closer that has the arm parallel to the door when the door is closed. This part is also known as the 1260-62PA, 1460-62PA, 4030-62PA, and 4040-62PA. Ships with mounting screws.

The LCN Door Closer Regular Arm 3077 ships with 95 percent of there door closers.   This is the standard regular.   Specify your current closers model number when ordering. The LCN 79 Door Closer Rod And Shoe  piece fits into the female part of all LCN Regular Arms. The old style had two concave set screws and a ball pressed into the rod. If the door over rotated the ball would pull out of the concave set screws. The new version has a pin holding the rod to the shoe which is designed to fail if the door is over rotated. This piece will work on the LCN 1260, 1460, 4010, 4020, 4030 and 4040 door closers with regular arms. Some of the really old models have multiple threaded holes, so you might have to drill a hole in the female tube. Part #'s 4040-79, 4040-79LR and 4040-79ELR. The 1260, 1460, 4010, or 4020 could replace the 4040 in those part numbers, they are the same.

The LCN Door Closer Spring cush Arm 3077SC is an optional arm offered by LCN.  The arm features a solid forged steel main arm and forearm with a spring loaded stop in the soffit shoe, which makes this arm ideal for abusive parallel arm applications.  Specify your current closers model number when ordering. The Norton Door Closer 1601 has been around for the past 40 years.  With the advent of aluminum framed glass doors, Norton was on for the first manufactures to come up with a narrow stile door closer.  Because of this, it is still one of the most popular door closer model out there.  It is a Grade 1 closer and has adjustable closing, latching, and back check speeds.  The model we ship also has adjustable spring tension to work on a wider range of doors.  The hole spacing is 3/4” x 9-1/16”.

Older models may be stamped with Scoville or Eaton, which are the companies that used to own Norton.  We sometimes find 20-1624-4001, or 20-1604-4001 stamped on the back of the closer. If your door closer is stamped 20-1603-4001 or 20-1623-4001, you might want to double check the hole spacing. The 20-1603-4001 usually has a hole spacing of 3/4" x 8-3/16", you could use the International Door Closer 853 as a replacement.

The Barrier Free version just means you can turn the spring tension down to a size 1 spring, which will meet the ADA codes (less than 5 pounds of resistance). The model we ship also has adjustable spring tension to work on a wider range of doors. The hole spacing is 3/4” x 9-1/16”.

Norton 1600 Installation Instructions

The Norton Apollo Door Closer 7500 has been around for quite a long time, and was designed to replace the older 7700, which are still made. The beauty of the 7500 is that is can be mounted left or right, push, pull or top jamb, were as the 7700 you had to specify all those attributes, which made stocking them a head ache. This is a Grade 1 closer, and is extremely durable. If you are looking for a 7500BF, the barrier free version, the new 7500 is barrier free, and will do the trick. This closer has a 2-3/8" x 6-3/4" hole spacing.

The Norton Door Closer 8301 is sometimes called the Omni Door Closer.  This door closer features a cast aluminum body, is a Grade 1 closer and has adjustable closing, latching, and back check speeds.  This closer is a non sized closer, meaning you adjust the spring tension to meet closing requirement for a ADA Barrier Free application all the way up to a 48” exterior door.  You cover might have 8301/8301BF 3301/3301BF, but the new version will cover the BF and non BF closers.  The difference between this closer and the 8501 is the size of the plastic cover.  The 8301 has a slim cover, and the 8501 has full cover.  The hole spacing on this door closer is 3/4” x 12”.

The Norton Door Closer 8501 is sometimes called the Omni Door Closer.  This door closer features a cast aluminum body, is a Grade 1 closer and has adjustable closing, latching, and back check speeds.  This closer is a non sized closer, meaning you adjust the spring tension to meet closing requirement for a ADA Barrier Free application all the way up to a 48” exterior door.  You cover might have 8501/8501BF 3501/3501BF, but the new version will cover the BF and non BF closers.  The difference between this closer and the 8301 is the size of the plastic cover.  The 8301 has a slim cover, and the 8501 has full cover.  The hole spacing on this door closer is 3/4” x 12”.

Norton / Yale Door Closer Arm Shoe Assembly

Replacement Shoe Assembly for Norton 1600, 9300, 7500 and 8000 series door closers. And Yale 50, 2300, 8000 and 4400 series.
Base measures 11/16" x 2-1/4" with 1-3/4" center to center screw hole mounting. Bracket projects out 15/16". The pin is 3/8" diameter.

The Norton Door Closer 7701-13 Hold Open Loop Assembly is usually the part that breaks on the Norton 1600, 9300, 8301, 8501 and 7500 Hold Open Door Closers.  The cast iron piece attached to the disk is where they usually break.  This part has had a few part numbers over the years, for Norton it has been known as the 1620-13 and 7701-13, and for Yale the 400-13.

The Norton PTO PowerTrack for 7705 is a replacement piece for the 7705PTO Door Closer.  The Track includes the Slider, Soleniod and new mounting screws.  The Track measures 21-1/4" long with a hole spacing of 19" on centers.   The PTO Track is for the Pull Side of the door, also known as the Hinge Side because you can see the hinges on that side.  On the PTO Track Assembly you can see the Two Mounting Holes

Sargent 1130 Door Closer

The Sargent 1130 door closer is a non handed universal door closer. It can be mounted on the left, right, push, pull or top jamb. The hole spacing on this door closer is 3/4" x 9-1/16". We ship the Sargent 1131-RU model.

The Sargent Door Closer 1331  is a standard template closer with the 3/4” x 12” hole spacing.  This closer is a great replacement for the Norton 8000 Series or Yale 3000 Series Door Closers.  The closer is constructed of a cast aluminum body and has a heat treated steel pinion and rack.  The 1331 has the ability to be mounted on the push, pull or top jamb, and is non handed.  We stock the aluminum finish, but also have the dark bronze finish, it just might take an extra day or so.  We ship the 1331-JUO.

The Sargent 281 Door Closer is also known as the Powerglide, This closers meets ADA requirements, meets the Buy American Act, and is certified Grade 1, the heaviest rating possible.  The closer has the capability to be mounted on the push, pull or top jamb, and is non handed.  This closer is the replacement for the 1250 and 1251 series closers.  This closer has been the replacement for the 1250 since about 2000.  It is manufactured of an aluminum alloy.

The Sargent Door Closer 351 is the most heavy duty closer made by Sargent.  This closers meets ADA requirements, meets the Buy American Act, and is certified Grade 1, the heaviest rating possible.  The closer has the capability to be mounted on the push, pull or top jamb, and is non handed. It ships with arm, plastic cover, parallel arm bracket and all of the fasteners.  The hole spacing is 2-1/2" x 9"

The Sargent Door Closer Hold Open Arm 25-H is known as a Friction Hold Open Arm.   As the arm rotates it tightens the two plates together until they can not turn any more, and holding the door open.  To close you just pull the door and it will "unscrew".   The hold open position is adjustable by tightening or loosening the larger nut.

The Yale Door Closer 3301 is constructed of a cast aluminum alloy.  It is considered a Grade 1 Closer, which is the highest grade possible.  The closer features an adjustable spring tension, and separate closing, latching and back check intensity valves.  The slim line plastic cover is standard on this closer.  This door closer replaces the older 3301BF closers. The new version is Barrier Free Complaint.  The hole spacing is 3/4" x 12", the cylinder is sometimes cast 20-3301-1001 on the back of the cast aluminum cylinder.  This closer ships with all of the mounting hardware and parallel arm bracket.
