The LCN Door Closer 1261 Series combines the best features from the previous 1070 and 1370 into a single versatile and economical cast iron closer, with Tri mounting capability. The 1261 is the door closer I would recommend if you are tired of replacing your store front door closers because of leakage.  The 1261 is the most heavy duty standard template closer that is made.  This door closer will work on the push, pull or top jamb, and is non handed.  The 1261 is adjustable spring sizes 1-5 and mounts to the most common commercial footprint. The 1261 also features a complete line of regular and extra duty arms, LCN’s peel-n-stick installation templates, a convenient spring adjust pointer.  The hole spacing is 3/4" x 9-1/16", so it is considered a standard template closer.  LCN also offers a 20 year warranty on this closer. The Brass finish is Painted Brass.

The LCN 79 Door Closer Rod And Shoe  piece fits into the female part of all LCN Regular Arms. The old style had two concave set screws and a ball pressed into the rod. If the door over rotated the ball would pull out of the concave set screws. The new version has a pin holding the rod to the shoe which is designed to fail if the door is over rotated. This piece will work on the LCN 1260, 1460, 4010, 4020, 4030 and 4040 door closers with regular arms. Some of the really old models have multiple threaded holes, so you might have to drill a hole in the female tube. Part #'s 4040-79, 4040-79LR and 4040-79ELR. The 1260, 1460, 4010, or 4020 could replace the 4040 in those part numbers, they are the same.

The LCN Door Closer Cush-n-Stop Arm 3077CNS is a Non-handed parallel arm that features solid forged steel main arm and forearm with stop in soffit shoe.  Specify your current closers model number when ordering. The 18PA LCN Drop Plates are designed to lower the mounting holes on doors with glass at the top of the door. If your door has a narrow stile at the top of it surrounded by a metal frame, mount the door closer on this plate.

The LCN Door Closer Hold Open Arm 3049 has an adjustable nut that allows the door closer arm to lock when they reach a pre select position.  This arm can be used on most LCN Door Closers because the Hold Open function is in the arm.   If you have a regular armed LCN Closer currently, you can use this arm to make them have the Hold Open function.  Two words of warning, they can not be used on an interior fire rated door, and Hold Open arms usually break.   The manufactures sell more door closers with regular arms, but we tend to sell more Hold Open arms, meaning they wear out or break a lot easier then Regular Arms.

Replacement Rod for the LCN 4630 Door Closer, LCN Part # 4630-82

The LCN Head and Tube 78H and 78HL comes in two versions.  One is 5-3/4" long and the other is 8-5/8".  The square hole is 5/8".  The head and tube usually breaks where the cast ring attaches to the tube.  This part usually goes by the part number 4040-78H, 4040-78HL, 4040XP-78H, 4040XP-78HL, 1260-78H, 1260-78HL, ect.,.

The LCN 1370 was a door closer made in the late 1990's to 2006 or so. The closer had a special mounting plate that made installation very quick. Many people have this door closer in use and now they are starting to fail. The LCN 1370-18QF Quick Fix Plate converts the mounting holes of the 1370 to a standard template closer, which is 3/4" x 9-1/16". By using this plate you will not have to redrill holes in your door. The plate measures 2 by 10-1/4 inches with tapped holes that measure 3/4 x 9-1/16 inch.

The LCN Door Closer Hold Open Head And Tube 3048 - 3048L.  As the arm rotates the pivot point threads close on to the mounting bracket face and create a friction catch.  If yours is new, try rotating the mounting plate 180 degrees so the threads tighten as it closes. This replacement part from LCN either breaks or wears out.   The material some times wears out due to the friction of open and closing.  But the biggest issue seems to be the point where the tube mounts to the cast iron connector.

The LCN Door Closer 4021 is also known as the Smoothee.  The 4021 ships with regular arm, standard plastic cover, and self reaming and tapping screws.  The 4021 is considered an application specific closer.  Meaning you have to specify left and right swing door, and can only be mounted top jamb.  A top jamb mount is when the closer is mounted on the top rail of the door frame and the arms hangs down and attaches to the door.  Top Jamb door closers are also mounted on the pull side of the door.  The Non sized cylinder will work on just about any size interior or exterior door and meets ADA requirements.  We ship the 4021 REG.

The LCN Door Closer 1461 series closer ships with regular arm, a slim line plastic cover, and self reaming and tapping screws. Non-sized (1-6) cylinder is adjustable for interior doors to 5’0” and exterior doors to 4’0”. Closer mounts hinge side, top jamb and parallel arm on either right or left swinging doors.  The narrow foot print allows this door closer to be mounted on the top jamb and narrow stile doors without a drop plate.

The LCN Door Closer 4031 is shipped with forged regular arm, metal cover and wood/self-tapping machine screw pack. Non-sized (1-4) 4031 cylinder for exterior doors to 36” (914 mm) and interior doors to 48” (1219 mm). Closer mounts hinge side, top jamb, and parallel arm, on either right or left swinging doors. Closer meets ADA requirements.  The hole spacing on this closer will not match the 4030's that LCN produced up to 1997, that was a completely different door closer.

The LCN Door Closer 4021 FL is shipped with fusible link arm, standard plastic cover, and self reaming and tapping screws. This closer is designed to hold open fire doors, when the fusible link melts, it releases the hold open arm, so the door will close.  Sized cylinders for interior doors to 5’0” and exterior doors to 4’0”. Non-sized cylinder adjustable for interior doors to 4’6” and exterior doors to 3’6”. Included arm has a fusible link that melts at 120 degrees, allowing to door to close. Door can be closed any time with a gentle pull.  Closer mounts top jamb (push side), specify right or left swinging door. 4021 cylinder meets ADA requirements. 

The LCN Concealed Door Closer 3031 is mortised into the top of the door.  Standard 3030 series closer shipped with regular arm and wood and machine screw pack. Sized cylinders for interior doors to 4’0”.  Handed for right or left swinging doors.  Closers to meet ADA requirements.

The Fusible Link is a lead clip that melts at roughly 115 degrees, and releases the door so it can close and contain a fire.  If you have a building were you have a high traffic and abusive, especially exterior doors, then this is the closer. The 4111 is an application specific closer, meaning it will only work when mounted on the door, on the push side. This is known as a parallel arm application. The cylinder is fully adjustable and will work on doors up to 56" exterior door, and can be adjust down to ADA required levels. The LCN Door Closer 4041XP-Hw/PA is the 4040XP, eXtra Protection closer with the 4040XP-3049 Hold Open Arm.  You get the same performance of one of the most revered closers with the functionality of the friction hold open arm.   The cylinder features cast iron construction, forged steel arm, double heat treated steel pinion, non-handed, LCN® “Green Dial” spring force indicator, Peel-n-Stick templates, UL and cUL Listed, 3⁄4″ journal diameter pinion, full compliment bearing, and tested and certified under ANSI standard A156.4, Grade 1.  With this package you have the flexibility to mount the closer on a left, right, push, pull or top jamb mount.  The hold open point is adjustable by loosening or tightening the hold open nut on the arm.
