The International Door Closer 851P Series is not a common closer we see on a lot of storefront aluminum framed doors.  This is one of the last closers out there to still have sizing.  By sizing I mean each door closer has a spring size of different tension so the closer is selected depending on door size and wether it is interior or exterior.  These days we usually use this door closer as a replacement of existing doors.   The closer features two adjustment valves for closing and latching speeds.  The cylinder is constructed of precision cast aluminum.  If you have an exterior door I would recommend the 880 Series, which is the same door closer, but has a back check valve.  The back check valves will slow the door down if it is caught by a gust of wind.  It ships with a regular arm and parallel arm bracket.  This door closer is for use on doors up to 32” interior or 28” exterior doors.   The 851 meets the size 1 ADA requirements.

3/4" x 6-3/8" mounting holes

3/4" x 7-3/8" mounting holes

The Anodized Black Aluminum Door Kick Plate 315AN are a flat black and match the black color we find on Storefront doors.  These plates have an aluminum base metal, which is 18 gauge (.040") thick that is then Anodized in the Black Color.  These plates relatively inexpensive.  Custom sizes are available, they run about $0.25 per square inch.

You can order these plates with tape mounting, but on larger plates and especially plates with a stainless steel base metal, it is not recommended.  Stainless Steel plates are too heavy and they most likely will not stick.  We can also ship them with no holes, if you want to drill your own holes.  This is fine on the Brass and Aluminum base metals, but again Stainless Steel is very hard and a drill press would be recommended.   You can glue them on, I would recommend liquid nails, and come C Clamps with the door on saw horses.

The LCN Door Closer 4111 HEDA Hold Open is known as the Smoothee, and is one of the heaviest duty door closers made, the HEDA stands for Hold Open Extra Duty Arm.  If you have a building were you have a high traffic and abusive, especially exterior doors, then this is the closer. The 4111 is an application specific closer, meaning it will only work when mounted on the door, on the push side. This is known as a parallel arm application. The cylinder is fully adjustable and will work on doors up to 56" exterior door, and can be adjust down to ADA required levels. We ship the 4111 HEDA model, which is a hold open arm on this page. The cylinder mounting holes are 2-1/2" by 6".

6" Kickdown Door Holder Grand Standard

Frequently we are asked, “What is the heaviest duty kick down holder  you sell?”  The answer to that question is any of  Grand Specialty door holders.  These door stops are American made and simply the best out there.   They have a shoe that is held in place by a screw, a rivet instead of a roll pin for the hinging mechanism, and a “wedge” instead of a piece of spring steel to hold up the leg.  They are constructed of steel, and not cast like all of the other door holders made.

Floor Door Stop / Holder FS446

The Ives FS446 Door Stop and Holder is a modification of the FS444, which is the non holder version.   It is considered a manual type floor holder, because you have to manually latch the holder for it to hold the door open.  It is constructed of cast bronze or brass, and is no longer available in a cast aluminum.  It is designed for doors with up to 2-1/2" of undercut, meaning the distance between the finished floor and the bottom of the door. It measures 3-3/4" overall height with a 2-1/2" diameter, and the distance from the base to the center line of the rubber non-marring stop is 2-1/2".  This stop is packed with expansion shield and lead shield.

Floor Door Stop / Holder FS43

This floor mounted door holder has been around since the 1960's. It used to go by the name Glynn Johnson GJF43A or F43A, and was brought over to the H.B. Ives line in the 1990's and now goes by the part # FS43. Many schools and hospitals have this door holder in use today. It features: Automatic door holders ideal for heavy-traffic situations that require a simple, fool-proof, Hold-Open device. Forged from brass. Unit is activated automatically when door is opened. A firm pull on door releases the mechanism. Strikes accommodate different door to floor clearances. Model numbers are determined by strike/door-to-floor clearances. Holder position on door is adjustable.

The Jackson 20330 Concealed Door Closer has been around since the late 1960's early 1970's.  They are used on aluminum framed storefront doors, that have a narrow stile (frame) around the glass.  The closer is tucked up in the header of the door frame.  Jackson has been a leader in this style of door closer for almost 50 years.   The closer is manufactured in the U.S.A. under strict ISO 9001 guidelines and is designed to give long lasting, maintenance-free performance. The International Door Closer 9001-TP Series is a relatively newer closer.  This closer features fully adjustable spring tension, closing and latching speeds and back check.  The narrow design allows for mounting on the top jamb of store front doors without a drop plate.  The closer is non handed, and can be mounted on the push, pull  or top jamb positions.  It meets all ADA requirements and is a Grade 1 closer, the heaviest rating possible.

Ives FB31P Automatic Flush Bolt

This fully automatic flush bolt is used on the inactive metal fire door.  When the active door is opened the latches retract, when the active door closes the latches extend.  The Ives FB31P Body is 1” wide by 6-3/4” long and 2” deep. Bolt throw is 3/4” with a 7/8” adjustment with a 3/4” backset,  standard rod is 12” which is measured from the center of latch body to the bolt tip.

Rods are also available in 18”, 24” and 36”, call for pricing.  We ship the 12” rods, and this set includes the top and bottom flush bolts.

Von Duprin 6114 24VDC Electric Strike

Von Duprin 6100 Series electric strikes are designed for use with Rim devices.  The 6114 has a 3/4” latch bolt throw, 7” face plate length, 1-7/8” width, and projects1-9/16”.  The lock retrofits the Folger Adams FD 310-5.  Other voltages and replacement parts are available. 

FSE - Fail-secure.  Requires power to be applied to unlock the strike lip.  On loss of power, the strike lip is locked-Fire Rated

Wood Door Automatic Flush Bolt FB41

H.B. Ives FB41 Series are sold has Top, Bottom or in Pairs (top and bottom). Fully automatic, inactive door is latched when active door closes, bolts retract when active door is opened. Top Bolt has no spring tension. They are non handed, but the top and bottom bolts are different. The body size is 1" wide, 8-1/2" tall and 2" deep, the bolts have a 3/4" throw with a 7/8" vertical adjustment.

4" Kickdown Door Holder FS455

The H.B. Ives FS455 is what people think about when they say Kick Down Door Stop.  This design has been around for almost 50 years and is try and true.   Durable and ascetically pleasing to look at.  This door holder features a simple hold and release, activated with a touch of the foot.  They are constructed of cast brass or aluminum depending on the finish that you are looking for.  The rubber tip is a non-marring and is corrugated on the bottom so it will not slide on the floor, and is easily replaceable, look under related products for the replacement shoe.  This holder is for door to floor clearances of less than 2".  This is an ideal door holder for the home, office, church or school.

Von Duprin 9827/9927 surface mounted vertical rod device for all types of single or double doors, UL listed for Panic Exit Hardware. Devices are ANSI A156.3 – 2001 Grade 1. Covers stock hollow metal doors with 86 or 161 cutouts. The Von Duprin 9827 device has a smooth mechanism case and the Von Duprin 9927 device has a grooved case. The surface vertical rod device is non-handed.

The LCN Door Closer Spring cush Arm 3077SC is an optional arm offered by LCN.  The arm features a solid forged steel main arm and forearm with a spring loaded stop in the soffit shoe, which makes this arm ideal for abusive parallel arm applications.  Specify your current closers model number when ordering. The Yale Door Closer 51 Series has been around since the early 1970's.  With the advent of the aluminum framed storefront doors, this door closer was a perfect fit.  The 50 series is a non-sized, non-handed closer that can be mounted on the push (parallel arm), pull (regular arm) or top jamb.   A Grade 1 closer certification, means it is one of the more heavy duty closers out there.  Older models may be stamped with Scoville or Eaton, which are the companies that used to own Yale.  We some times find 20-0054-4001 or 20-0254-4001 stamped on the back of the closer.   Ships with all mounting screws and a parallel arm bracket.  The hole spacing is 3/4" by 9-1/16".

The Doromatic 1990 Panic Device has a long history of reliable performance.  Although it is now called the Falcon 1990, they are the same device.  This device is non handed, meaning it can go on left hand or right hand door.  The standard included 41" crossbar will work on doors up 3'8" wide, and the stardard rods will work on a 7' door.  It is equipped with hardened steel latches and adjustable strike to ensure safety, security and quiet operation.  The package includes all of the mounting screws and strikes.

The International Door Closer 5001P Series Adjustable Spring Power is a great closer to use as a replacement for the many 3/4" by 12" mounting holed closers.  This door closer is fully adjustable with sweep, latching and back check adjustments, a long with an adjustable spring tensoin control.  This closer can be adjusted to less then 8-1/2" pounds of resistance to meet ADA standards.  You can install this closer on the push, pull or top jamb, we ship the regular arm and a parallel arm bracket.  This closer has the same mounting holes as the Norton 8000 and Yale 3000 door closers.

Hole spacing 3/4" x 12"

The LCN Door Closer 4111 FL is known as the Smoothee, and is one of the heaviest duty door closers made, the FL stands for Fusible Link. The Fusible Link is a lead clip that melts at roughly 115 degrees, and releases the door so it can close and contain a fire.  If you have a building were you have a high traffic and abusive, especially exterior doors, then this is the closer. The Ives Wall Door Stop / Holder WS40 is a door holder that has some history.  We see this product in many schools, hospitals and churches that were built in the 50's, 60's and 70's.   The WS40 was originally made and designed by Glynn-Johnson out of Chicago, Illinois, and was called the W40 or GJW40.   H.B. Ives purchased Glynn-Johnson in 1990's and mergered this product into there offering, and changed the part # to WS40.  The holder is made of cast brass or bronze and plated to your desired finish.  The holding mechanism has a rubber bumper inside it to act as a door stop, and a brass spring loaded roller to act as a holder.   The product ships with a universal screw package to mount on all types of walls.   For the best results with this stop/holder the door and wall should be about 3-1/2" apart in the open position.

LCN Door Closer 4111 HCUSH Hold Open

Standard 4110 series closer shipped with HOLD OPEN CUSH N STOP arm, standard plastic cover, 4110-201 FIFTH SCREW SPACER and self reaming and tapping screws. Sized cylinders adjustable for interior doors to 5’0” and exterior doors to 4’0”. Non-sized cylinder adjustable for interior doors to 4’6” and exterior doors to 3’6”. Closer mounts parallel arm, specify right or left swinging door. 4111 cylinder meets ADA requirements. The cush hold open arm allows for a stop and hold open positions up to 110 degrees. "T" handle on arm will release door for closing, locking pin can be retracted for normal door closing operation.

The Norton Apollo Door Closer 7500 has been around for quite a long time, and was designed to replace the older 7700, which are still made. The beauty of the 7500 is that is can be mounted left or right, push, pull or top jamb, were as the 7700 you had to specify all those attributes, which made stocking them a head ache. This is a Grade 1 closer, and is extremely durable. If you are looking for a 7500BF, the barrier free version, the new 7500 is barrier free, and will do the trick. This closer has a 2-3/8" x 6-3/4" hole spacing.

The Von Duprin 98 Rim Panic device has been around since the late 1970's and has gone through a couple of improvements.  One of the great things about the 98 is the availability of replacement parts.  Even when the device is upgraded, the upgraded parts will work with the older versions that can be close to 40 years old.  This device is for all types of single and double doors with mullions.  The device is UL Listed for Panic Exit Hardware and is considered Grade 1, the heaviest duty rating possible.  The Von Duprin 98 device has a smooth mechanism case and the Von Duprin 99 device has a grooved case. The rim device is non-handed, meaning it will work on Left and Right hand doors.   Ships with all the mounting screws and the 299 Strike.
