Selecting the Correct Panic Device Parts for Your Project

Whether you are replacing a worn component or stocking parts for ongoing maintenance, RBA Door makes it easy to find the right fit. Our selection includes parts for rim, mortise, and vertical rod devices, along with trim, end caps, dogging components, strikes, and mounting hardware. Each item is clearly listed so you can match the part to your device and get your door back in service quickly.

To identify the correct parts, start by checking the manufacturer and model number on the device. This information is usually stamped on the push bar, the end cap, or the inside of the chassis. If the label is missing, you can still narrow it down by noting the device style (rim, mortise, or vertical rod), door type (metal, wood, or glass), and whether the opening is single or pairs.

Once you know what you have, you can order only what you need—such as a replacement latch, new end caps, a strike, or a complete retrofit kit. If you are unsure, our team can help you confirm compatibility before you buy, so you avoid delays and keep your exits compliant and working smoothly.

Are you unsure of what you need? Search by part name, device type, or manufacturer, and check the product descriptions for sizing and fit details. If you have questions, our team can help you identify the correct part so your device operates smoothly and safely. The Dor-O-Matic 1690/1790/2390 Dogging Hex Shaft is the piece that your dog key (allen wrench) fits into the lock the device in the open or dogged position.  This shaft is used on the 1690, 1790, and 2390 device.  The Dor-o-Matic Panic Devices have been around since the late 1960’s, but have most recently been known as the Falcon Panic Device from a name change they had in about 2008.  They are basically the same device, with the same parts, just a different name plate.  The part that the hex key fits into is only about 1/4" deep, because of that these tend to get rounded out, so the key will not move the shaft.

To remove the old shaft just pull with a pair of Channel Locks or Pliers.  To reinstall, just press it back in to position, you might have to bend the holding tabs back down, but we very rarely have to do this.  The manufacture part number on this is SHAFT.101.
