LCN Door Closers Background
LCN was purchased by Ingersoll Rand in the 1970’s. They changed the name of the entire company, with LCN as one of their leading brands, to Allegion in 2012 which is now its own company.

LCN Closer Series
1000 Series Surface LCN Closers – The 1000 Series LCN Closers are designed for narrow stile storefront doors, but they will work on all doors. The 1000 Series LCN Closers that we carry include the 1250 LCN Door Closer, the 1260 LCN Door Closer, the 1450 LCN Door Closer, the 1460 LCN Door Closer (AKA the LCN 1461 Door Closer) and more. Most 1000 Series LCN door closers are universal meaning they can be mounted on the left or right, top jamb, push or pull.
The 1000 Series LCN Door Closers also ship with a Peel and Stick Template. They are an ideal choice for high traffic areas such as universities, hospitals and more.
4000 Series Surface LCN Closers – The most heavy-duty LCN door closers of the surface mounted options are the 4000 Series LCN Closers. We carry the 4010 LCN Door Closer, the 4020 LCN Door Closer, the LCN 4111 Door Closer (AKA the 4110), the 4030 LCN Door Closer, LCN closers from 4040 XP category (AKA LCN Closers 4041) and several other products from this series.
For the 4000 Series LCN Door Closers, it is required that you select the mounting and handing style you prefer. One of their outstanding features is the Green Dial power adjustment.
The 4000 Series will also be shipped to you with a Peel and Stick template. It will work excellently for interior and exterior doors in government buildings, hospitals and more.
Aluminum Series Surface Closers – The Aluminum Series LCN door closers are the newest addition to their product line. Instead of being manufactured of cast iron, these LCN door closers are made of cast aluminum.
The Aluminum LCN Closer Series stands out in that it is superior quality but for a lower price. It is a great choice for any interior doors or medium-volume traffic doors in office buildings.
Sentronic Fire Life Safety Closers and Holders – Sentronic LCN closers and holders are built to detect fire and smoke and to keep a fire from spreading. There are several styles of Sentronic LCN closers such as the Single Point Hold-Open, the Multi-Point Hold Open and more.
Replacement Arms – We also distribute LCN closer arms which are some of the most powerful, extra-strength closers on the market today. When produced, LCN arms go through the drop forging process and then the color of your choice will be powder coated. The 320G that you can find on LCN arms indicates that the items are UL Listed to be mounted on fire rated doors.
SEM Electromagnetic Door Holders – The SEM series should be used specifically with manual closers and on fire barrier doors. Features include single point hold open and 12, 24 or 120 voltage. Choose either concealed or surface mounted.
Fusible Link Closers and Arms – LCN is one of the few companies that still manufactures fusible link armed closers. Fusible Link LCN door closers are designed to be used in buildings that do not contain fire alarms.

Mounting LCN Door Closers
Application specific and universal are the two kinds of surface LCN closers. On an application specific closer you need to specify right or left hand, plus how it will be mounted, push side (parallel arm), pull side (regular arm) or top jamb.
All of the 1000 Series are universal except if you have one of the heavy CUSH or EDA arms; these two have to be mounted on the push side (parallel arm). All of the 4000 Series are application specific except for the LCN 4040XP Closers (AKA LCN 4041 Door Closers) and the 4030 Closers.
Push side mounting is also commonly referred to as parallel arm mounting because the arm is parallel to the door when the door is closed. For example, the LCN 4111 Closer is a parallel mount only.
Pull side mounting on the other hand is also known as regular arm mounting. This occurs when the closer is mounted on the pull side of the door and the arm sticks straight out when in the closed position. The 4010 is an example of an LCN closer that can only be mounted regular arm.
The last mounting option is top jamb, meaning the closer is mounted above the door on the frame. The 4020 is an LCN closer that can only be mounted top jamb.

LCN 159 Arm Screw
The LCN 159 Arm Screw is used on all of the LCN Closers to hold the arm on the Spindle of the Cylinder. This screw goes by the number 4040-159, 4110-159, 4020-159, 1260-159, 1260-159, 4040-159 and 4040SE-159. This is the screw that holds the arm on to the Door Closer Spindle (Shaft). The screw has a 3/4" diameter head, 1/2" high with a 1/4" diameter shaft with 20 threads per inch (1/4-20 screw).

LCN 1370 Quick Fix Plate
The LCN 1370 was a door closer made in the late 1990's to 2006 or so. The closer had a special mounting plate that made installation very quick. Many people have this door closer in use and now they are starting to fail. The LCN 1370-18QF Quick Fix Plate converts the mounting holes of the 1370 to a standard template closer, which is 3/4" x 9-1/16". By using this plate you will not have to redrill holes in your door. The plate measures 2 by 10-1/4 inches with tapped holes that measure 3/4 x 9-1/16 inch.

The LCN Door Closer Cover is the standard plastic cover that ships with LCN Door Closers. Specify your current closers model number when ordering. Not all of the LCN closers have the same shape cover on the door closer cylinder. The part number is the Series Number followed by -72. So, the part number would be 1460-72, 4010-72, 4020-742, 4030-72, 4040-72 and 4110-72. We have access to all the covers, if yours is not here call us and we will quote you a price.

LCN Door Closer 4040SE Track Assy 4040SE-3038
The LCN Door Closer 4040SE Track Assy 4040SE-3038 replaces all Sentronic tracks for the 3130SE, 4010SE, 4110SE and 4040SE Closers. Track includes the roller, 4040SE-3034 and new mounting screws. The replacement track measures 21-3/4" on center for the mounting screws, which may be different then the 3130SE, 4010SE, 4110SE and older 4040SE Tracks. The replacement track is the only way we know of to replace the solenoid. Specify voltage, and color when ordering.

LCN Door Closer Regular Arm 3077
The LCN Door Closer Regular Arm 3077 ships with 95 percent of there door closers. This is the standard regular. Specify your current closers model number when ordering. Not all of the LCN closers have the same shape spindle on the door closer cylinder. The fitting for the 4040 is a six sided, the 4010, 4020 and 4110 have a flat sided oval, and the 1260 and 1460 have an eight sided star. The LCN Door Closer 62PA Parallel Arm Shoe is constructed of steel and then powder coated to your color. This is the shoe that LCN used on there universal door closers for the parallel arm mounted door closers. This is the bracket that is shipped with the Rw/PA and Hw/PA arms. A parallel arm closer is a door closer that has the arm parallel to the door when the door is closed. This part is also known as the 1260-62PA, 1460-62PA, 4030-62PA, and 4040-62PA. LCN Door Closer Hold Open Arm 3049
The LCN Door Closer Hold Open Arm 3049 has an adjustable nut that allows the door closer arm to lock when they reach a pre select position. This arm can be used on most LCN Door Closers because the Hold Open function is in the arm. If you have a regular armed LCN Closer currently, you can use this arm to make them have the Hold Open function. Two words of warning, they can not be used on an interior fire rated door, and Hold Open arms usually break. The manufactures sell more door closers with regular arms, but we tend to sell more Hold Open arms, meaning they wear out or break a lot easier then Regular Arms.

LCN Door Closer Hold Open Head And Tube 3048 - 3048L
The LCN Door Closer Hold Open Head And Tube 3048 - 3048L. As the arm rotates the pivot point threads close on to the mounting bracket face and create a friction catch. If yours is new, try rotating the mounting plate 180 degrees so the threads tighten as it closes. This replacement part from LCN either breaks or wears out. The material some times wears out due to the friction of open and closing. But the biggest issue seems to be the point where the tube mounts to the cast iron connector.

The LCN Head and Tube 78H and 78HL comes in two versions. One is 5-3/4" long and the other is 8-5/8". The square hole is 5/8". LCN Door Closer Rod And Shoe
The LCN 79 Door Closer Rod And Shoe piece fits into the female part of all LCN Regular Arms. The old style had two concave set screws and a ball pressed into the rod. If the door over rotated the ball would pull out of the concave set screws. The new version has a pin holding the rod to the shoe which is designed to fail if the door is over rotated. This piece will work on the LCN 1260, 1460, 4010, 4020, 4030 and 4040 door closers with regular arms. Some of the really old models have multiple threaded holes, so you might have to drill a hole in the female tube. Part #'s 4040-79, 4040-79LR and 4040-79ELR. The 1260, 1460, 4010, or 4020 could replace the 4040 in those part numbers, they are the same.

LCN Sentronic Door Closer Roller - 3034
The LCN Sentronic Door Closer Roller - 3034 is used on all of the LCN Track Closers, and Sentronic Closers. Nylon wheel is 1-1/16" diameter by 3/8" thick. The shaft is has a 1/2" diameter by 1-1/8" long. However in November of 2015 they started shipping the roller with the Slider 168 attached to it, with a retaining ring. LCN Started using this Roller Assembly in December 2018.

LCN Sentronic Door Closer 4040SE-168 Slider
The LCN Sentronic Door Closer 4040SE-168 Slider used to be just the slider, the metal part. In October of 2015 they changed the part so the roller is now included and they are held together by a snap ring or E-clip.
The slider is not longer sold separately, it is sold with the roller. You have to take the Assembly apart to get just the slider.
